Bierstadt Lake Loop Trail

BIERSTADT LAKE LOOP TRAIL 🏔

I remember saying that hiking in the snow might be difficult but it’s Rocky Mountain National Park so the view will take the cold and/or pain away, right? 😅❄️

Well, I misjudged. It was cold, windy and snowy at the top, but it was glorious and I barely noticed.

This 3.2 mile loop is uphill most of the time, but the awesome payoff is the lake at the end. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a snack and enjoy the RMNP views.

Also, we saw a moose! 🤩 My husband and I were losing our minds with excitement, and our kids did not share our excitement 😂 They wanted us to quiet down for snack time 🥨

But they still talk about the moose encounter, which made the whole uphill climb worth it ❤️

We did NOT wear snow attire other than boots. Most of the trail was dry, but once we were at the top and the snow was heavier, I wished we had an extra layer for the kids.

Cold weather hiking might not be for everyone, but it’s always worth a try 😄
